not sure if anyone else has had issues with the tank in the 966. but having tank seal issues, and now a new tank where the nipple from the outlet to carb started leaking last night, and a new kit tank broken at hinge like the 733, has anyone tried a different tank in the 966 ? the Kyosho one seems to fit the bill very nicely. actually gives more room for battery, and carby area. only thing is it sits a little higher at the lid. be interested if anyone has tried any different tanks. thanks.

I have also had some tank issues on my 966. The area around the tank was wet coming out of 5 minute runs and at first I thought I had messy pit guys or my engine / exhaust were leaking but it turned out to be the tank. I submerged it in a bowl of water to see where the leak was but that was inconclusive. I ended up changing the fuel cap for a new AFL one I had from a 950 and that removed about 90% of the wetness. I still think there's still some leaking from the nipple going to the carb but I am not positive. Note this occured when the car was brand new.

well the kyosho one is a direct fit. but the 966 tank will not fit in the kyosho as easy. more area around the carb and for the battery

If Collari can do it everybody can!

p.s. At the recent Worlds in Lostallo, Collari is using a Serpent 960/966 fuel tank in his Evolva

I believe TK is talking about how Collari installed a 966 fuel tank, a 966 front upper arm and the front wheel axles in his Evolva M3 EVO car, so if Collari did it then everybody can.
