I know the problem.
Some manufacturers use 1 hole on there manifolds, because they provide 2 shorts exhaust springs to mount the manifold to the engine, while others need a long exhaust spring to go around the engine....

The layout

This is how I ran.. I was damn lucky..

One question, how do you stop the muffler becoming black and fuzzy. I sprayed some siicone mold release over the pipe before the race but didnt seem to work.

ı tired spraying it with silicone but it didnt have too much affect. for running 5 mins it works but when your out there more than 10 mins all the tire dust get stuck on the pipe again...

I remember some friends were cleaning the pipes in boiling antifreeze but I saw some fires so I am looking for a "safer way" so to say...

Anti freeze will work, but takes a while.
Use either Carbon Off from Smart and Final or Jascos paint and epoxy remover from Home Depot. These take about 15 mins. and the pipes and headers come out spotless. They both are very toxic, so be sure and clean the pipes and headers outside, and use gloves. They will destroy the gaskets so take the pipes and heades apart, and when finished, rinse the items with water. You will be amazed at the results

kyosho has a spay on to spay on the pipe before running the car. the result is much better than the carbon off.

I am also new to the hobby, but RB have an exhaust spray.

Their website says, "This product avoids your exhaust system attracting dirt on its surface (tires foam, fuel, exhaust gas and dust) so you can keep it clean longer. The dirt on the exhaust system can cause the cooling not to happen properly and can lead to a lower performance. Thanks to the RB exhaust protect, your exhaust system can evacuate the temperature better. The RB exhaust Protect resists to very high temperatures. This product works very well on nylon parts of the cars, the dust do not stick on the parts and your car stays clean. "

Contact Sam at Kamikaze toys and hobbies. He has them in stock, and can ship to your location.
You will find him in the racing forum thread
