Question about the setup that Paolo posted a little while back as I am not too familiar with Serpent yet. The info he posted about the steering blocks, his original setup says #2 on the right and then he changed it to #1 on the right and #2 on the left. What is the difference and how does it affect the handling of the car?

I think it changes the CG on the wheel shafts to a neutral position which is the current setting I have on my 966

if you have the set up book it will help you better but if you dont here. changing the sides of the steering blocks help with on and off power steering . as you change the axle height it makes it more or less with suspenion travels up and down

I dont think that it changes axle height, thats what the ecenters are for. It changes the height at which the turnbuckle mounts to the knuckel. If you mount the 2 on the left you get more on-throtle steering and it makes the car lesss responsive.

ok i think we are trying to say the same thing somewhat . in paolo setup he used the big bearing in one part of his setup which centers the axle . and in the change he made eccentic was used with the small bearing which pushed the axle up . thats why it said its better if he had the setup book. but i hope it helps him with his serpent

We're talking about 2 different things. The eccenters change axle height, you can run the axle low or high with the eccenters, or if you use the big bearing it will be centered with the oneway.

What Automator asked is not axle height. You can swap the knuckles left to right. One knuckle has a #2 and the other one has a #1, its not like it used to be when one had an R and the other a L. There is no left or right. Depending on which side you mount the #2(or #1 if you like) the height of the steering arm changes. If you moung the #2 on the left the steering arm (on the knuckle) is higher. They are called WOS knuckle and they used to be an option on the 960 07, now they come standard.

How do you calculate the final drive ratio on a nitro 1/8th car? Also what offset from front to rear tire size do you run on the 966? Seems the internal gearing on a 966 is a little different from a Mugen or Kyosho.
