I finished building my new 966 TE V2 this past weekdend, and I have to say that I fell in love with the new shocks They're incredibly easy to bleed, and they all have the same rebound, right from the first time. No air in them either. Just easy!

Hi guys,

Would appreciate if anybody could assist me on these 3 questions:

1) How does cutting out the holes on the front bumper affect handling?

2a) Front steering knuckles, can be mounted to give more turn in on corner entry, or more on power steering at corner exit. Which position does what?

2b) On setup sheets,I noticed it is indicated by position 1 or 2. Which position is 1 ? or 2 ?

Your kind assistance is very much appreciated.

Thank U.

Hi,

1) In process of installing the true motion clutch. Just want to confirm that if using the black shoe with alu clutch bell, i am supposed to screw the clutch spring nut all the way in and back out 1.5 turns. I am thus effectively tightening the clutch spring nut to 2.05mm. Is this correct? so 'tight'?

2) If using the normal clutch bell with brown or red shoes, is there any change to how tight I should tighten the clutch spring nut? With the normal clutch system, I tighten the cllutch spring nut to approximately 1.5mm. With the true motion clutch, do I need to deviate significantly from this?

If anyone can provide answers/clarification to the above, would be most grateful.

Sam, I never use callipers to measure how tight I set the clutch. After I am happy with my clutch, I always check who many turns I can fasten the spring completely. This is much easier next time when rebuilding a clutch, just fasten it and "unscrew" for 1.5 turns.

1 turn actually, is equal to around 0.7mm of spring tavel, very usefull to know.
I recommend the first time you run the clutch to set the spring load to 2 turns, until the clutch loosens up (depending on how tight the flyweights go over the pins), you can tighten it if needed. Clutch gap, smaller the the "old" clutch, around 0.4 - 0.5 to begin with.

As far as clutch there is YouTube video on the set up, it very helpful. Look it up. As per your throttle I had same issue, I put thicker rubber seal on carb which lifted it up.
