Hi,

How does the upper/lower position of the eccenter on the front steering knuckle affect handling?

Would really appreciate if anybody can assist me on this .

Thank You.

Hello:
In brief this affects front roll-center:

Try both mid the lower positions at the track back-to-back, and you will see a major difference between down and mid positions

I think so. Not sure because I dont have the car in front of me but basically, when you are looking at the steering blocks from the side, the axle down means that the axle is below the center of the hole of the steering block. When the axle is in the center, it is the mid/neutral position. These are the two positions I use most. If you flip the eccenter piece then the axle would be in the upper position which we rarely use.

Let me know how it feels after you try it!

Yes, you can buy the parts. The only thing different on the V2 are the new shocks and the new clutch. Everything else is the same as your TE. Im picking up my V2 next saturday, Im running a 966 that I bought new back in 2009, Im NEED new car

    Thanks

Do you know the part number for the new clutch? Is this it:

So only some minor change (clutchbell, spring, Flywheel are unchanged)

Do you guys think the new shocks are worth the extra $$$

No, thats the old clutch. Look at the link above.

    Centax True Motion Clutch

Serpent introduces new Centax clutches for 1/8 onroad.

The development of the Centax clutch continues. Serpent’s designer Ron Ton was the innovator of this revolutionary clutch system in the mid 90-ties. Soon it has become the standard in onroad racing, as all other brands adopted similar systems.

Many variations have been tried, but in the end it still comes close to the original idea.In the latest development the tapered shape has been moved from the flywheel to the pressure plate instead, improves punch and reliability.

Serpent continues the use of the hard Centax spring to set preload, as its less critical and faster to adjust.

The 1/8 scale Centax True motion clutch, has the black shoe and aluminum cutch housing as standard. Yellow and red shoes can be tried as well, as well as the steel or light steel clutch housing.

The Centax system, invented by Serpent (Ron Ton) in 1992 is since long a standard in the rc industry.

put some laps in with the 966te yesterday very happy with it. I only had one problem, I strip second gear twice, I think it was because the track was fresh and still had some debris on the track pinion was beatup as well.

ran my 966 te yeasterday and the car was good on the first outting of the day before my second run i wanted to change the shift point to shift a little later and when i went to pop off the E clip it would not come off. I had to lossen the left side gear and slide the shaft over. Well after all that I changed the shift point and put the car back out first lap was good and hit the straight on the second lap and off went the E clip, gears, gear spacer and pin. I found everything but the gear spacer and pin, are these parts available yet without buying the whole two speed kit.
