Default 966 TE SL8

Hello!

I'm building my new 966 TE and noticed that the 1st spur gear (48t) is not perfectly flat. When I rotate the 8mm shaft the I can see the spur going a little side to side...

The drive flange seems to be ok. Anyone has suggestion or a way to solve the problem?

Thx

Experiment with how tight each of the 3 screws are that connect the gear to the drive flange? Just a thought

mm...sorry I have to correct myself... I have re-checked the drive flange and... the one way bearing seems to be a little bent in the house
Will be hard to make it lined with the flange but I try.

Meanwhile I will ask for a new one

the nature of the bearing, it will always have some float. under load and RPM it will finds it seat. but it will rock on teh shaft a little. i doubt its much to worry about. the shaft is bigger, so the bearing is also bigger. the rollers inside need some float to operate. if its a little, that should be fine. if it is lots, and a real bad wobble, then may look at getting another one and seeing if its the same or not. wont hurt to have a spare if it turns out the same.

tried out the car today guys, and guess what, it works (for me that is), car was very stable all round (well im sure that it being a full time 4wd made that happen), a bit off understeer but nothing a pair of softer fronts wont solve, finally able to drive this like my 733, a big thank u to guys that made this happen for me.

Hello Paolo, can you advise on the type of fly weights used for alu bell setup? Are you using leading or lagging on the fly weights? Or you are using the std ones that came with the kit. Thanks.

The best Aluminum Clutch bell (903387) set up is with 6587XP Black shoe, 909520 clutch spring and 903199 leading flyweights.

Once again Paolo showed how fast he is with his 966 at the GLC. He had a slight mistake on entry to the back straight when he caught Paul. That gave Paul some breathing room for a bout 45 seconds. Then Paolo kicked it up and was right on his tail. Bit the clock expired. Just one more lap!!! Either way great driving by a great driver Paolo. And a great car we have in our stable.
