Is this normal? Do you find this on your kit as well?

adding an additional 1mm caster clip will cause binding. unless of course I sand the clips down.

But just want clarification as to whether the free-play with 11mm of caster clips is normal.

thanks in advance.

also, last thing i did last night before packing up, the rear axles, i put in the axles, bearings, and the tapered spacer, couldnt get the pin in. so i used some other shims i had. it basically locked up the bearings in the hub ? different shims are fine. i like a little ply in my axles spacing. just a tiny bit.

I pay alot of attention on the play of the arms. I spend a lot of time make them free but no play. I use shims to compensate that play. You can find different manufacturers that sell 3mm shims with 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3 thickness.

Regarding the rear axle, i have asked many time the factory to modify the manual cause that conical shim (1mm) does not fit there. I use 2 x 903235 which is a total of around 0.6mm of spacers

Hope this helps

Hi Paolo,

Could you post your set up from the Timezone race you won?

That would be great for us looking to get the 966 TE.

Thanks.

Have any of you guys compared the 966 to the 966e? If so can you share your knowledge?

Front suspension 2011 set (903380),
Rear suspension 2011 set (903384)
Rear Arm/Shock extension set (903377)

This above 3 items will give you significant improvement on your 966

Hi,

For those who are putting together their TEs... did u have to grind down the brake bushings(the tubes that the springs go over) in order to have the right bearing block to sit properly?

My outter brake pad is now hitting the FR suspension bracket thus preventing the right bearing block to sit properly.

i have clearance on mine.
if it is hitting, i would be making sure your pad on the bearing side is sitting in the tube properly, if you have tightened it and the busing is clamping the pad plate, then it will make the bushing sit out further. just a thaught.

Sam it's correct. The handling of the car improves a lot making it super easy to drive and with a wider sweet spot

I've stated this before. Those improvements dropped a whole second or more off my lap time. Big difference.
