Questions?? Conical and Non conical Manifold's

Could someone shed some light on the difference between conical & non conical manifold's, any input is appreciated.

In general, or at least based on my experience with both:
conical = more power, decreased fuel mileage
non conical = less/smoother power, increased fuel mileage

but for conical type,i used report was low end power ok but middle to top rpm was slowly than non conical.
if you make a correct non conical manifold with muffler combo,that it has give you smile feeling.

Conical manifold--- have a tapered dia inside= smother power, more torque,

Non conical manifold --same dia straight through, more top end power with little loss in bottom end.

41015 = short
41016 = medium
41017 = Long
Above are Nova Rossi part numbers.

I know this an old thread but what effect does it have on an engine if you alter the amount of 'rings' on a manifold? Does this have any relation to the length?

The number of fins on a Novarossi manifold is determing the length.
