Its not a knockoff... This car has gone through different brandings... If I'm not mistaken, it first started as a Trinity Reflex, then it was named the RD Logics Mongoose and now we know it was the Team Magic G4. It has switched different manufacturers over the years but the basic concept has been maintained. Hopefully someone in here knows and has time to explain the whole history of this car for our knowledge.

The RD Logics Mongoose is the G4. It was distributed by RD Logics in the early days of the G4.

The Reflex car, the Mongoose and all the G4 variants are/ were all made by Team Magic.

The Trinity Reflex was the first Team Magic car and different in design than the G4 !
It was distributed by Trinity as was the First G4, the "E" and "C" variants.
Then distribution was taken over by RD Logics for a while and they marketed the new G4 as the "RD Logics Mongoose"

There has since been various distributors over the years but all G4 variants are made/ manufactured by Team Magic of Taiwan.

The new versions are the G4 RS and the G4 PLUS EVO. There are also RTR versions.

I hope this sheds some light.

thanks,
at least i know now the parts are out there, looks like a nice ride,i see them for 169.00 brand new in the box..
for that price i might have to take a stab at one unless someone here with owner experience steers me away from it.

Yes. Not a bad buy at that price. Although they are an old design of car. The G4 has been improved immensly since.

I would't blame you for getting it at that price but you could get the new style/ design (The JS) for not alot more money. Then you would have the upto date design which you could hop-up all you like.
Check out

These can hook you up with what you need Team Magic wise.

depend what your goal is with this car.. if budget is what you're looking for it's a good price,, but for around 70 more i second the js it's updated parts ,,but if you're the type to hop it up you might as well go with the rs IMO.. if it is just for street toy find a shaft drive car little pebbles will get into the pulleys and will strip the belt (s)
