It must be growing in Europe or Asia because I have not heard of anyone in the states running 2wd 1/8th scale onroad. It does remind me of the old 2wd 235mm car that I used to run a few years ago (and still have).

I'd also love to see the resurgence of 1/8 2wd.

I am extremely interested in getting additional information on this class and rules as run in Europe.

I think this would be a great starter nitro class. Our local track has been looking at something like this instead of inferno gt. Pretty hard to transfer from igt to 200mm or 1/8!

I found some info on chassis suppliers but it appears no distributers in the US.

For those in the know please post any links possible on rules and chassis suppliers.

Thanks

This should be a good class for drivers that want to stay competitive and stay within a reasonable budget.

.

Motonica makes a chassis, the P8 classic: http://www.motonica.com/italiano/products/products.htm

Maybe the Motonica US distributor can bring some in.

This class is popular in France, I know they race it in Italy, and judging by the number of cars on the market, possibly growing in other parts of Europe. Motonica does make a 2wd pan car, it does come with a rear diff and most of the rest of the usual adjustments (camber, toe, caster, width, etc), and if I am not mistaken, the chassis itself acts as a damper. You don't need an expensive motor, in fact you don't want too powerful of a motor. Tires last longer, and there are less parts to maintain, break, and replace.
I have actually sold a couple of these cars in the US, and if there is a demand I can surely bring them more in and get the class going.

Thanks for the info garen. I'd love for this class to take off in the states. Can you give us an approximate street price for the kit?

I might have to talk to some of the 301 guys and see if they want to try and get a class going. Looks like a lot of fun on a budget to me.

Motonica has a new 2wd in the works, and at a lower price than the previous 2wd car. The car will be available in both ball differential and gear differential versions. A combo kit will also be offered with a 3 port engine and exhaust kit (not sure what make/model), which might be a good option as a spec class car/engine. The new car has wheel base adjustment, a new system for caster adjustment, new steering servo mount, new rear hubs, and more. Expect the kit to cost around $400, and the kit/engine combo around $485. The car will likely be shown at the Toy Fair in a few weeks. If there is any interest from any of the clubs or tracks for a 2wd class, please let me know or post your thoughts here.

This is in no mean a class for a beginners this is more difficult than 4wd 1/8. This is one of the reasons 2wd 1/10 died because its a finesse class not point and shoot like 4wd. I loved the 2wd impacts still have mine. A friend turned a 950r into 2wd with the fps diff from serpent the car is awsome
