Seriously, it's 'not' expensive, a Capricorn is expensive, a WC Xray kit is expensive, the Mugen is about what you would expect it to be, first orders in got a good deal, price will likely go up, but then may come back down again with time.

Kit oils will be interesting, and yes basic starting points, with my home track being bumpy of late, I'd say I'll need softer, kind of feel the need though to put mine right out on track with the kit setup, just to see how it feels like that...

compared witht he price i paid for my mtx4 when it was available in the shop in the first day, the price of the 5, as i know, increased 50% in price;
of course, the yen rate is up by more than 50%.

running a 1/8 scale is almost cheaper than a 1/10 now a day. at least the 8th doesn't need to have so frequent maintenance, at least doesn't have to try out so many viscosity of silicon in the differentials.

so the mtx4 was $250 to $275 US when it came out?
i think from memory the mtx4 was approx $475 in Australia when it was released.

More like $400 and he means 50% above that, based off the Amain price of $599 possibly, though the other place still has them at $559 or something like that...

Australian is likely to benefit from the exchange rates, US is likely to suffer, but I still don't think it's expensive by any means, don't know what you would have to do to make something 'cheap' anymore, maybe Team Magic it out with wood screws and zero hop ups, though most of us know how well that goes...

And I paid more for my espresso machine earlier in the year than my new MTX5, reality check, plenty of stuff out there is more expensive than RC now...

i agree with the fact that RC prices in general have gone up, and yes, rc kits are sometimes overpriced, ie the capricorn is an example. I am not sure if the lab is expensive as it is produced in low quantities or if it is just a mark up. The NT1 when it came out was also slightly higher in price.

I feel that after the hype the mtx5 will go down to the low $500's and maybe after a year or so the $490 US range. I think the low conversion rate for the Yen to other rates is also a factor.

The price can not be excessive, even for a European Champion, because there is strong market competition and the XRAY .... In Europe generally starts at € 499. If demand is strong, the price may be slightly higher but competitive. If the price is too high, people prefer XRAY for the lowest price. Within the next year's kit will undergo changes due to improvement of small troubles encountered. No machine is perfect debut.

You can never have too many clutches.

I have as many cluthes as you, from mtx3, 4. I still have few sets of nib steel pinion, spur gears and end bell too. I was hoping to use it in 5.
I can now focus on my mrx5, test the new "clutch ".

The clutch SM sirio has one larger bearing and a small one. The new clutch MTX5 has 6 small bearings . I don't think I'll use this new.

The MTX5 clutch looks very long to me, I do not think the older MTX3/4 clutch will work, for sure not the clutchbells.
