I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that gave me advice on my purchase.
I was real, real close to being a G4js owner. I might still buy one in the future. I really like the design and layout of the car. I come across an mtx4 that I couldn't pass up.

Thanks

Can't blame you, I'd take an MTX4 over a JS anyday. Just remember to use Traxxas lower engine mount screws.

dude that's my idea (traxxas #4859) it also works for G4, but be careful you might have to use a smaller screw on the rear top or cut it just a little bit off cause both screw share the same threaded hole it might hit each other and leave either or loose, that was suppose to be for our locals only chiefy! lol

just uses a 2.5 mm hex instead of 2.0mm and wider head,, lets you crank it tighter than you would with the 2.0 without it rounding off

So um, has anyone been racing their +Evo lately? Mine broke and the part I need is coming from Hong Kong so I just might be down for a while. Times like this make me wish I gone Serpent or Mugen.

True, but i know how he feels when i had trouble getting parts before i found Zauber. So when i did find out about them i started stocking up on parts that usually break so now i have a whole spare car and heaps of other spares aswell. Now the only down time i have is to swap that part around

If parts are hard to get in the states just stock up

This is why I hate message boards. If people aren't bitching about this car or that car, they're bitching about this person or that person. SP Racer dood, I wasn't whining about my car, I love my car. I may not like the parts availablilty of my car but don't make it sound like I'm constantly bitching about TM this G4 that. Because seriously.......... it's getting old

Wolf hobbies doesn't have the part?

If you guys in the states are having so much trouble with getting parts, why don't you shoot TM an email?

(doubt they'll do anything, but surely worth a try)

I have a few contacts - shoot me a PM

p.s., I wasn't really having a direct dig at you, just over reading about people complaining ....distribution, new models etc etc

it's refreshing reading a "tech tip" every now and then.

still loving my trustworthy and reliable TM G4RS+ ...

(although parts availability is an issue but still no regrets!)

p.s. just to 'loosen up' this thread abit.

now back to 'business'...

what's the difference or how will the car be affected if you use a hard spring with thin shock oil or soft spring with thick oil?

example: 1.8mm spring with 300oil vs 1.4mm spring with 700oil.

I don't think they are much different. The holes in the piston make a difference though. Are your holes 1.2mm?
