Im looking to buy my first on-road car 1:10 tourer
Im shopping and trying to educate myself to purchase a 1:10 on road car. I do have some experience bashin around but nothing serious. I want to start racing and getting into the hobby more seriously. What would be a good choice in the 1:10 class, keeping in mind this would be my first racer.
I do like the 720 from what I hear its a great car..
any insight is very much appreciated
EDIT: I would also not like to purchase a car that is to become obsolete soon

NT1 or RRR Evo 2. MTX4 should be replaced in 09, and 720 as well if serpent is still around. Best thing to do is 1. use the search function; and 2. go down to the track that you'll be racing at and see whats popular. You really cant go wrong with either the xray or kyosho tho

This is an on-going post, and has been posted many many times.
The best car in the world is useless if you can get replacement parts.
Just like the post above stated, go to the local track, or local shops and see what parts they stock, whether it be Mugen,Kyosho,NTC1,Serpent.
ANY of these cars can put you in the main once your driving has improved to that point.
Look around at the for sale forums, and pick up a good used car, even a roller and start with that. Most of these cars are for sale in the sale forums.

But as mentioned, the best most expensive tricked out car in the world is useless if you can't get parts for it. Best bet: see what the locals are running and what you can get parts for locally and go from there. Also, consider what you want to do: race at a track, or bash around with your friends. If bashing around is the plan, almost any HPI or Tamiya kit your shop has will suit you fine. If you plan on racing at any point, any of the current cars from Serpent, Kyosho, Mugen or Xray will be in your future.

Jamn37,
If you are planning to get serious about racing instead of bashing any of the top kits are going to work (Kyosho RRR Evo 2, XRay NT1, Mugen MTX4, Serpent 720and Team Magic G4RS)so what it comes down to is parts support. Check with your LHS and the local racing scene, see what kits they have the best support on parts. See what other guys are racing with. You don't want to be the odd man out if you're just starting. Get a kit that some of the local racers are running so you can go to them if you need help or have questions on setup. From a personal standpoint, you can't go wrong with the Kyosho RRR Evo 2 or Xray NT1.

I may be wrong but if you can get an older model like the VoneRRR evo WCE a bit cheaper than the evo 2 it could be a good bargain and still rather competitive. But usually the latest is the greatest.
