Could someone tell me what floating body mounts are? I'm guessing the body posts are mounted on the suspension arm or sway bars so that the body stays off the ground in tight corners and any down force at high speed would be transferred directly to the tires and not compress the suspension. That would be great on rough parking lots or for a rally car conversion!

You've got the right idea. Best thing to do is look at any 1/8 on road rear body mounts, as they all use it...
