What do you guys think is the best .21 engine for 1/8 scale on-road racing for under $300.00?

Are there any?? Maybe an OS but most good racing engines at least .21's go 350 and up

I'm talking about more of a club race motor, not a nationals or worlds motor.

$350 is for a decent club motor. A worlds beating motor will cost your around $700- $800

Club racing, the OS will do you. Unless there are people out at your club dropping $500-$1000 on there engines. If that is the case than you wont get much out of the OS unless you send it off to get worked but then you are spending more than $300. For the money you can get a Sirio (I hate saying that) for around $350. Personally I would take a Sirio if someone gave it to me but that is my opinion.

The Circut C5 is a good engine, but, and I hope I dont piss anyone off but it is a French engine. If you want to support a country that doesnt support us unless they need us than go ahead.

Not to mention that this is not a cheap engine. The onroad version retails in most stores for about $400+ depending on where you get it. The price on the site says $399 before shipping. I can only imagine what they will try to charge for shipping.

I love my C5 circuit, ran this year like a machine no hiccups all year but you werew talking under $300.00 Now if you are willing to bump up to the C5 you can't go wrong and you will do fine at club level!!! Garaunteed!!!!!!!

For about 300$ Try to find Some units of the Nova RX21-SS (Super Speed), is the previous model to Nova R1. Or the Nova R1 itself. On Non-Nova world, try to find a Sirio .21 AAC I have one and works like a champ (probably with slightly less grunt on low-end but terrific high-end).

Main differences between R1 and R1WC (kangaroo) is basically timing. Have some units of those and is reliable and powerful enough to run in club and could be National events. Don't get scared by JP versions, basically are the same engine and usually get spanked by less 'exclusive and exotic' engines like a mere R1.
