I want to try out Nitro kits again. But I dont know which ones suit me best.
Im running purely electric for quite some time with the current techs.
Kyosho is my choice since it has good parts support in my area.

Yesterday I tried a V-One R EVO from my brother, nice accelaration and
overall power. But looking at the drive train turned me off, its so complicated.

Would like to know if Shaft Drive nitro kits are any good at all like the
Kyosho FW-05S or the FW-05RR -- http://www.kyosho.com/eng/products/r...duct_id=100236

I mean, can it be competitive like the V-One R?

Or Im just better off getting a the V-One RRR?


Im not into track racing. We're mostly running on our street, drag racing.
So top end speed and acceleration, easy to service, can fit realistic 1/10 scale 200mm bodies are my concerns.

For real racing stick with the belt drive cars.

For parking lot bashing, shaft drive may be a better choice as long as you can get the parts for it.

Belt drive's advantage isn't speed. Belt drive cars handle better. Engine, pipe, clutch and gearing will determine the speed.

Ok, so I can just get a shaft drive car and install a fast engine and be competitive with a belt drive car?

Im now thinking about the engine position of shaft drive car and what
OS engine is best for that chassis. Im choosing OS engines since it also
has good parts availability. Is torque steer present in GP shaft cars?

Some torque steer issues with shaft drive is why belt drive rules in racing. Not really a problem when drag racing in the parking lot.

if you want to run in a parking lot shaft is the go
but if you want to race it go belt your choice is here
kyosho V1RRR EVO2 or Team Magic G4RS
either will do the job well parts are easy to source in the US or Asia also you will need the right engine I suggest the picco evo tune this engine won the worlds just a short while ago

Now, what fuel is best for these engines?
Radio systems? Do I really need a failsafe device?
