What is going on with Serpent in the US market?
Does anyone know?

Serpent did go broke. The production is sold to a Chineese factory and the team here in Holland are busy with a restart in a compleetly different setup.

Is Serpent USA still in business?

I think so, most distribution channels will stay as it is so I have heard but I can imagine with a (partially?) new owner some things will change.

Ordinarily I would have said yes because DJ Apolaro still runs for them and one of the locals still gets parts from them.
But.. they are not answering the phone # listed on serpent.com and it rolls over to an anonymous mailbox plus their serpent-usa.com website is blank..

China... Taiwan.... Both Asia
Sponsored drivers in Holland are not sure what is gonna happen, at this moment they are not supported and waiting for new devellopments.
The Benelux distribution is now in the hands of rc-connect and some people working at the place are putted on the street so the impact of the change is serious.

Yes, Serpent is still indeed ALIVE and still running under the orginal managment (their HQ is still at the same location and no change). They only move their plant to Asia (not bought out by Asia mfr.)
About Serpent in USA....I am sure very soon there will be 1 developed and regroup the ordering for the LHS/racers, just need more time for them to figure things out and I am sure the US distributor will post it here on Rctech and or RedRC.

My understanding is much like Solara stated. Serpent shut down production in europe, and moved the production to Taiwan. Not quite the same as going broke.. I am glad I only have one race left for the season! I had to make a retail on-line order to get a few parts for myself.
I haven't been able to get parts through either of my wholesale suppliers. hopefully, the distribution chain will be re-supplied soon,,, maybe with lower prices??? Doesn't hurt to wish!

If you need to buy anything for 720 or 960 you will be able to get from Kamikaze hobbies or Ashford hobby. They are able to get Serpent products direct from Holland.

I presume you mean Serpent USA? I have never heard of a Serpent America. In any event, they have been unavailable by phone, fax or e-mail. Or, maybe they just don't want to talk to me.
