Default .12 Nitro engine choices

I am in need of a nitro engine. It will be put in a mtx4r. So i want one that is roar (or any racing leage) approved which i believe is a .12 motor that is 3 port. I know nothing about .12 engines ive been looking at

OS
Novarossi
JL3
RB
Team Orion Wasp?
Are there any other brands i should be looking at? What motors from these brand should i look at?

Default New engine

I have a lot of 12 engines, and some are great, some are dogs.
If you want to keep it around $300.00 by all means, check out the JL Tuned version.
I have four of them, and they are great.
Contact Kamikaze Toys and Hobbies in the racing forum.
Sam will make you a great deal.
These engines break in very easily, and will hang with the best for speed and power.

IF you want a novarossi engine at the $300 mark... I think the JP first line is around that price

That's on sale? regular price of the JL Tuned is only $270.00 and the stock is only $180.00 from one of the online shops.

Yes, that is on sale. It is a little bit more than the JL tuned. Just because they are both Picco based engines does not mean they are the same, or should be priced the same. There are quite a few Novarossi based engines available and they are not all the same price, nor do they all perfom identically.

It is also a modified/tuned engine so comparing its price to the stock version is irrelevant.

Don't get the orion, they can be quick (no quicker than anything else imo) but they are a pain in the arse to get right

Faster doesn't mean better. You can see what everyone at your track is running or other track you will be running. Everyone has there own opinion. I like the OS TZ and the Picco XP motors. It is also based off driver ability and set up. For $300 you could get a very nice motor or even spend less and hang with the rest. There's some very good motors out there from between $150 to $250. Hope i've helped your judgment choice.
