Bearing Cleaning/Re-Lube
What bearing lube/grease do you guys recommend? Got all my bearings out, ready to clean and re-lube them and I'm curious to see how you guys clean them and what you use to re-lube them. Oh I'm running metal shielded bearings by the way.

I put them in the Kawada Bearing Cleaner case with gasoline. Shake it and let rest then dry with compressor air or and let them self dry. Then I use Serpent bearing oil. Works good for me and very easy to do

Non-clorinated brake-clean and compressed air to clean and lube with a couple drops of Mobil 1 10w30.

For cleaning, I use coleman white gas. It's safe for the parts and cleans the grease and dirt off very well. you can get it at big 5.

just take the seals off with an exacto knife, put the bearings in a bottle with the cleaner, and shake it around a little to remove the dirt and grease.
for lube you can use Trinity Royal oil, it works great.

I have a RPM bearing sprayer case and use WD40 to spray things out, then let them dry. Hit it with the compressed air, and use trinity bearing lube. Also use Marvel Mystery air tool oil also (this also works great as after run oil).

I remove the seals and use "Non-clorinated brake-clean" to clean them. After that I use Remingon gun oil and relube them till they are completely wet. This makes sure they have none of the brake cleaner in them. Remington gun oil is made for reflecting grease and stuff so it really works great.

I just take a plastic dixie cup and put all my bearings in there and spray them with wd 40 till they are halfway emerged let them sit in there and shake the cup every 5 minutes or so till I am done taking apart and cleaning the rest of the car/truck then pull them out and dry them with a hand rag. After that I just put them back in the car.Works good for me and is quick and easy.

I also use one of the ultra sonic cleaners, I use oil or grease, depending if Im club racing or real racing. grease will also help keep out the dirt and last longer, and oil is faster.
I use Serpent bearing oil or teflone oil.
have fun, but remember to change the bearings when they feel rought or hard.!!!

Can the bearing sheild go back on after you take it off???
I have molybdenem (i think that's how you spell it) grease, made by Tamiya. Would this be ok to put in my bearings. If not what is the actual purpose for this grease????
