Looking for Carb Suggestions
I am an offroad racer. When I ask engine questions in the offroad forum I find that everyones motor runs 11 mins at 165 degrees for 8 gallons and has drivability but yet is the fastest down the strait. I come to this forum to ask people that race a class more emphesized on motor a few things about carbs.
Is there any differences between needle sizes and location between diff. carbs on .21 engines. (assuming they all are the same fitment?) I am running a picco(jammin jpx.21) and a o.s. vg. The os vg seems to be real funny about top and bottom needle corralation. I cannot get this motor to run well low end and top end together, it always is a BIG comprimise. Ive did the obvious and tried about every plug/tune combo. I can usually find a tuneup that works well for the weather but every time I run the motor I have to work on it which isnt anything like how my other motors run.
On the Picco motor I feel that its always lacking bottom end and was wondering if there is any magic(short of the obvious to anyone thats ever tuned a motor) as in a diffrent carb or something. Also I have heard of people having air leak issues with these motors, and im affraid Im on the verge of that. Ive put new bearings in the motor but the few times Ive got the motor over 230 as of late it seems to climb rather than stay at a certain temp as it once used to.
THanks for the time on the long read, Im not stupid when it comes to tuning. Ive thought of every theory there is to make these things work, but Im not sure whats on the market and how everything references to each other. Thanks again
