Stupid Newbie Questions!
I'm going to go ahead and apologize in advance for my ignorance :-)
I've been thinking about getting an on-road to drag race on smooth pavement and to take to the track whenever possible, so i'm looking for something with decent handling.
on the other side i'm also looking to go very very fast, so i need a chassis capable of mounting an engine bigger than a .15 or whatever the rtr's run.
so, these are my finalists:
HPI Pro4 Evo3: Good handling, slow out of the box, good parts support, Engine sizes?
NTC3: Same as the above?
Shumacher Fusion .28: Fast out of the box, suspect handling? not really race ready? poor parts support
4-tec: fast out of the box, suspect handling, good parts support.
I saw a OFNA and a CEN car, but i'm thinking they are going to be about the same class as the shumacher.
basically, i want someone to tell me i can go 80 mph with a NTC3 or an HPI with the right motor and gearing, so i can go ahead and buy one of these and wuit looking at the Fusion which is just going to hurt my feelings if i ever try to track it.
thanks guys!

Well, if you want to road race it you will need a good .12 motor. Get a good road race car and a .12 for racing and if you want more power for drag just drop an OS .18 TZ in it. Bolts right in.
#3
so any of the cars will take the os? what if i want to put in a mid block .21 or something crazy like that. will any of the actuall race worthy cars be able to do that?
#4
Not without modifications. As far as I know the .18 TZ is about the strongest small block out there. It will out perform alot of the cheap .21's.
#5
Ok, i'll more than likely buy the OS you speak of. is any small block car capable of running it with no modifications?
say perhaps a team magic G4s or RS? I love the look of those cars.

OK, i think i've decided to get a Shumacher nitro fusion. all the excess Kyosho and Mugen love has me sick. ;-)
Nah,
it looks like i wont be able to make a track car go fast enough to beat my drag racing buddies, so it's a Fusion for now and prolly a V-one-rrr evo++ Ham sammich for when i decide to race.
unless one of you peeps is gonna tell me i can do 90 with a track car.

well i am that some1, i got a Mugen MTX4 with a OS TG engine and skyline pipe and it can do about 70km/hr on a straight that is about 2M long and it can do about 90 at the drags, 40m long straight, they go faster than a RTR but if its all about dragging then get a .18 to a TZ
