there is a sound rule (6-13)- 85db at 33' distance.
I was mistaken about what I was thinking. I thought there was a rule about the size of the exhaust outlet pipe, but I can't find it. The outlet pipe on that thing is HUGE.
There is a rule, however, that the outlet pipe must be "a round, constant diameter tube, with the end cut at 90 degrees to its centerline" (6-14). I don't think that they would interpret this to allow that pipe. The "outlet" pipe goes from the front of the main chamber and then is welded, making it not constant size.
I only wonder one thing - does it work?
After that - who cares! I don't really run many sanctioned races, and if I did, I would just put on a pipe that fit the rules. . .
