does anyone make a 1/8th 2wd onroad with an independant suspension? i've seen some without a suspension, but want some adjustability. i am not talking about taking the front diff and side belt out of a current 1/8th, hope someone can help

Associated made an 1/8th scale, 2wd pan car about 20 years ago. They were the RC300 and RC500 I believe. Those were the cars that ushered in the modern 1/8th scale cars we run today. Don't think that you will see 2wd 1/8th scale come back anytime soon, if at all.

Most people made 2wd 1/8th's up until around 1995 or so when the class died out completely. You may be able to find and old Serpent Vector or Picco Integra set up for 2wd. The cars were identical to their 4wd cousins except for the lack of front drive train and came fitted with a rear diff.

........Motonica has their "classic" 1/8 car......although i'm not sure if it's available anywhere in the U.S...........Maybe Cyrul would know........I have been collecting old 1/8 Associated cars from Ebay........I currently am putting together an old RC250 and am going to put a Porsche 917 on it (painted with the Gulf scheme).got the the body from www.historicrc.com Just recently there have been some more 2WD Team Associated RC500's on Ebay..........As the guys have said 2WD is DEAD........I bought them just to play with as i have enough trouble finding enough time to keep a current 1/8 running.....There is also a guy in France ( i believe) who produces 2WD pan-cars to this day.......Red Ball i think they're called........I also wish 2WD would return in addition to 4WD 1/8........

The Motoninca P8 classic does have some suspension but due some rules it has to be a solid rear axle and they managed to setup a rear axle with camber and to-in adjustments.

http://www.motonica.com/italiano/products/products.htm second car down. This car is available in the US, PM me for details. 2wd is raced in France I think, there are a couple of manufacturers other than Motonica making 2wd cars.
The Motonica P8 Classic has toe, width, caster, camber adjustments and I think the chassis flex acts as the 'suspension'. This class would be a great low price alternative as you would not need a fast motor, tires last longer than in 4wd, and of course the cars are cheaper than the 4wd cars.

If you could get the companies to give you an active rear diff like in the old 2wd 235mm cars, then you could convert the car to 2wd and have like a 1/8th scale touring car class (Serpent still has some old 1/8th scale touring bodies floating around). The could probably be a good spec class to introduce 1/10 scale touring guys into 1/8th scale onroad.

Great looking car!!! This would be a good spec class car to jumpstart the racer on the fence about going over to 1/8th scale. Simple design, 3-port .21 engine, and touring car bodies, can't beat that combination.

my main goal was to make this car electric as i converted a serpent 950 over the last 4 months for a friend. it was a pain and i think the scale along with 2wd can make for strain on the electronics.
how much id the motonica?
