Finally some people that know its proper name. It's a Gurney flap not a wickerbill. Just like it's a Panhard Bar not a track rod.

Proper? Who's to say? Though I do agree that if there is no logical reason not to use the original term there's no reason to come up with another. At the same time for some reason racing is full of them: sway bar vs. anti-sway bar vs. anti-roll bar while a roll bar is an entirely different thing...

Then again I always thought a wickerbill was the stip the added side-to-side across the roof of cars to create extra downforce, while the strip referred to as a Gurney flap was only used in reference to wings or spoilers.
