Default Serpent 720 200mm or 835 235mm ?

Hi all,

I need your help on this one.

I am planning to buy a new 1/10th scale car, but don't know which one to get. Some friends have the 720 200mm (which is allowed in competition here) and one friend had the 835 235mm (which doesn't have a class in competation here).

Wich one is better/faster please ?

Thank you all in advance for your time

Many R/C greetings from Belgium.
Christoph.

If you want to race the 720 is the better choice. The 835 is an awsome car but is not raced in many places anymore. It is a shame as it is a fast, fun car to drive & much easier to handle than a 200mm car. BUT if you want to race then it has to be 200mm & the 720 is a great car.

Or go the 960 & play with the fast boys

Or you buy a 720 and convert it to a 235mm car.

You cannot convert this car to a 235mm, but there is a kit out now that you can convert it to 220mm. It is something that the westcoast guys are doing and there are a couple of threads already going in this section about it.

I know that you can convert it because there are more than one person here that did it.
For myself, I converted a NT1 to 235mm.

My choice would be to get a 720. I just regrettably sold my 835. The reason was that there was not enough parts support or people that run the 235mm car.My 835 was just sitting on my shelf looking good and collecting dust. 200mm is the way to go. The only time you see a 835/235mm type of car out here (North East US) now is for drag racing or bashing. Stick with a 720.

Thank you very much everyone for all your valuable info.

I think i will go with the 720, beacause there is not that much to get for the 835.

So 720 is the best way to go then

Thanks again everyone.

Greetings,

Christoph.
