How do you prepare for wet weather racing?

I'm just curious.

make sure that you are using sealed electronics, run an airfilter that is shielded or an INS box. You can use treaded rubber tires, but they do make rain tires for touring cars. They are hard to get here in the states, but you can get them. http://www.twistertires.info/advance...be1a36f80166a0 Also, you would want to pack the bearings with a white lithium grease or marine cable grease.

Place your receiver in a balloon and your transponder too.

When you install the servo's, try untightening the 4 screws which hold the two halves together so as there's just a slight split/ opening where the halves meet. Slide some silicone in this gap all round and re-tightend.

Put silicone around the wire where it goes into your servo's and transponder and also at the mouth of the balloons your using too.

Even though your using an ins box..you'll need to change your air filter after EACH race. Thats after every 'wet' qualifier.

If the ground is very wet and its pouring down with rain. Pitzumitsu's (I think thats how you spell it?) are the way to go. They're only 21mm wide (Thinner then normal!) and grip extremely well !
If it's just very wet but has stopped raining. Dunlop do some Intermediate tires that are just great. Run these with a HARD insert in and you will be almost up to dry weather tire times for the track.

If the track is damp and even if it's slightly 'drizzeling' (!!) You can still use slick tires as long as they are warm.

Open the servo's and put some (glueing) kit on the edges of the case and close the servo's. For me it is a standard procedure because the standard sealing is not protecting enough.

The receiver can be putted in a balloon with some cleaning putty:

If there is a lot of rain you can use the coolinghead of an airplaine engine:

Inside the insbox there is no airfilter, a foamfilter can hold water and block the air. Only be sure the dirt from the tires can not go into the box.

Then with some Kiss raintires, the car will look like this:

If the track is very wet you can lay a sheet of lexan under the motormount so the heat will stay in the motor. Also use a warm plug like a 6 or even a 5

For just a wet surface you can use an Aqua tire, this is a soft foamtire mostly with 15 to 20 shore. And if you can handle the power and fun:
