It's doing what it's designed for.

Running, racing, bashing, and being a proud owner of HPI.

That is a little off topic, try post it as a thread instead... you'll get better and more replies.

Plus, I don't even know what type of foams this car will have.

topslop1- foam tires are used for racing (much better grip) they don't slide like rubbers.

What you want info that's newer than your first post 4 days ago? Not much new info to be had, except the first cars are being run at some tracks in SoCal.

Que: The HPI team dropped in at Revelations Raceway in
L.A on Friday and spent the day breaking in and tuning their
NS12 S3 engines. The cars were brand spanking new so
the guys were not yet up to speed for this track... I am sure
Thad will get this car up to speed soon. I have not seen the
car at any hobby shop or listed at the online shops and I have
not seen a formal release date...but rest assured the car looked
competent on the track...

Que - the flash banner on the front page of the website says August, which is earlier than previously scheduled. That was put up a couple of weeks ago. We're still on track for an August release. Put in a pre-order with your local shop if you want to have one of the first kits guaranteed. Other than that, there were a couple of the cars at Revelation in Pomona (as mentioned above, thank you), and the R40 will be tested and raced at the NORRCA and ROAR gas nats.

What does this "industry buzz" mean?? Good team drivers running well in a car is surprising?

hey AMG......

I happened to be talking to a major manufacturer of hop up parts Mon morning....3 states north of CA..

He told me(not knowing that I was up on the car, since I race tc3 nitro's) how well he had heard the car ran over the wekend..

and he heard that from the competition!!..

Its all good with the HPI r40......

OK that is impressive then!! It does "look" to be a good car, but in the past HPI has managed to stuff up their products in some way or another, so I am naturally cautious with all their stuff.
