Sorry but this seems a bit contradictory. Let's face it the stock crown wheel and pinion need to be replaced for serious racing, the Kawahara ones solve all the gearing and wear issues.

just wondering ,why are the kyosho team drivers not using the kawahara conversion? im a serius racer and my fw-05r is excellent using Kyosho parts only.i just dont see spending that much money on a conversion but that is just my opinion. Also the Kyosho FW-05R that won the pre worlds in Brazil wasnt using the kawahara conversion either. my 2cents

The Kysho ring gear sets front and rear plus many spare gears and pinions = $100. The Kawahara conversion = $400 with no spares.

Actually, the Kawahara center conversion is around $100. Rather then buying the genuine Kyosho 39T or 37T gear, the center conversion may be a good alternative.

I know one driver using the Kawahara gears. I'm pretty sure the Kawahara center conversion wasn't out at the time of the pre-worlds.

By the way, Josh Cyrul happen to blow 4 motors at the Vegas race a while ago.

How are you machining the carbon? Hand tools or CNC mill?

Cheers
