also check that you didnt lose a pin out of one of the cv joints. i did this without realising while assembling the kit and only noticed when my 1-way diff went both ways

it smooths out the exhaust pulses, without having to use a long fuel line....I think my engine does run a tad smoother....(esp in response, low end,....)

Default Building HELP!

hey guys,

okay so i just got my new R40 hara edition car, i ran into some probs the first being that HPI didnt update theer instruction manual when they added there lightweight 2-speed tranny instead of the factory one both are installed some what differently(neither i kno how to) so heres my delima i have some pics my problem is that drivetrain wont match up with the proper mounts as shown in 3 pics....

This pic take note of the Left of the brake how you see the shaft(and the rods that come out of the brake keep falling out cause they dont go into anything!)

Take not this is how the instructions told me to assemble it (Note the gap on the right side where the tranny is)

Now note the black spacer added to the left of the brake and how now everything is set right with no lateral movement but now is off with the mounts

so I LOVE HPI cars and have loved them since the RS4 1 came out and have been building these cars ever since , ive always loved them cause the instructions are always on pointe and somewhat FUN and easy to build, this had me cursing left and right and pulling my hair out, ive always been biased towards other touring car company's and choose the R-40 over the serpent 720.... Please can anyone help me , i dont want to throw it at the local r/c shop to build it cause thats a waste of money and hpi is closed till monday

The hara edition kit comes with a seperate set of instructions for the different parts. Look for those. Allthough what you mentioned really didnt remind me of anything perhaps your answer lies in those additional hara instructions.
