If anyone's interested in some hop-ups or spares, pm me for a list, I'm beginning the part-out of my r40s.

That RB EFRA motor is really good. You can run it if you wish and for it being equivalent to $170 US that's dirt cheap. They sell over here for $300+ so you're paying have the cost of what I'd pay. In that case I'd jump on it. Sure there are other motors like the OS .12TZ which is great for the $$, inexpensive for rebuild (under $100) and pretty good on small to medium tracks. The Ninjas are great too and the Novarossi plus 12 3T and CT is great. For about $300 US here.

http://stores.ebay.com/PRO-HOBBY

Alright guys , last night I posted 50 R40 Hop-ups and upgrades to my ebay store. Very low prices and even some harder to find parts.

You can pretty much get all you would ever need for a fraction of the cost. This stuff has got to move!

Your friend being out in front with his mod-free car probably has a lot to do with his driving skills. I've seen guys with near stock TC3s run really good. I can certainly believe that the MTX-4 is better than the R40, but I would not assume that running the Mugen would all of a sudden put me out in front of the pack at my local track.

FWIW, my stock R40 clutch seems to work pretty good for me.

As well he was an electric driver for on-road and while im having trouble with my r40 clutch for an entire season , he goes and builds his first stock mugen clutch and it ran perfect and he is always #1 or #2 at our track for the entire nitro class. Just goes to show its a more friendly car in my opinion.

He has done barely anything to the car mod wise and all the time he is running at the front with guys who have been in the nitro class for years. More or less im just going to test out new waters and see where it takes me.

i'm looking at buying an r40 but i'm a bit confused as to what edition this car is:

http://www.rchobbies.com.au/store/pr...7a2ec284c2697f

is it the hara one? cause i cant find anything that is a '2005 edition'

also,if i buy it what are the normal hop-ups that i need to keep it together on the track?

Thats the one. I'm guessing that the part number is for the Asia spec, but it does have the latest stuff on it. You shouldn't need any hop ups. Ok, maybe a grey Mugen clutch shoe if you race on a high traction surface. Some people even use the entire mugen clutch.

Id reccomend the yellow clutch pad. A sealed bearing kit for starters.

The rest of the car is pretty much ready to go , but theres a lot of option parts out there that help drops it weight and increase its durability some. This thread is chock full of that info.
