Tower is a little high on their pricing for the R40. Try this place instead:

This is the best pic I've seen so far of HPI's 'super chassis'. Sweetness... I think I just found a new 'gotta get' item to go along with the graphite shocktowers and side brace. Besides being lighter and stronger....its not bright purple!

Ya...PURPLE SUCKS...they need RED or gun metal, a car that is black, carbon fiber and red is nice and looks like a race car...the toy Barbie cars come in purple and pink...

Now, I didn't say all that! I don't neccesarily have a problem with anodized purple anymore than red or blue, I just prefer natural or black.

from hpi europe

HPI Racing is proud to announce the release of our newest option part for the R40 Nitro pro racing car: the Light Weight Super Chassis! Machined out of aerospace quality 7075S aluminium, this chassis is 3mm thick for extra strength and stiffness. Many areas of the chassis are milled out to reduce the weight without sacrificing strength, and the cutouts in the chassis are enlarged from the stock chassis. The underside is also bevelled on both sides to reduce the chances of the chassis touching the ground in hard cornering manoeuvres. To enhance engine cooling, an angled air opening under the motor is cut out to increase the amount of air flowing past the engine!

All this adds up to a chassis that is stiffer than the stock version and 20 grams lighter ! No racer will want to be without this excellent addition to the R40 option parts line

I like the looks of the chassis hara used more than the dark colored one. I rather have it a more natural (or close to natural) finish on it than something that dark. where'd you find that pic darkseid?

Well first I saw it on the Orion news link. Then I followed the link they had over to the HPI Europe site.

I like the dark HPI 'super chassis' best. I will definitely have that on my wish list after i get the car. I'll throw a layer of chassis protector on it to keep it from getting nasty looking.

Remember, looking good is half the battle!
