Did Atsushi Hara run in the ROAR nats this year? I do not see his name on the entry list. I do not see any R40s in the A-Main results list.

Nope...Nats wasn't as full this year. I wonder if anybody else ran the R40....I managed to put my R40 in the D main.

I heard the os doesnt last as long. If you want a nice motor for cheap go with what FH has the RB V12.

You can get a P/S set for the OS for about $50, for most of the others its more like $100. O.S. engines have a reputation for lasting a long time, if you take care of them

I have 3 os's. I know they are pretty good. I also hear about their reliability as well. But the OS TZ I heard and read from a couple of people it has trouble lasting 2 gallons on some motors. From what my lhs says OS is always hit or miss. A good example is the TR.

Also if you are not so sure about the OS engines, I use a Team Orion Wasp .12 3 port turbo. I started using it almost every weekend since january 2005. HAve gone through atleast 5 glowplugs and the engine kicks ass!!! It's called Black demon. I payed around $160USD for it, but for some reason towers has it now for $209USD...
Good luck

For the pipes. I have an rdlogics outlaw II that is a great pipe, the only thing is that the stinger bends easy. The past race, it almost seperated from the pipe. In the future I will try the CVEC. Either pipe I think would be a good choice.

As for the air bubbles in the fuel, I have not had any problems with that on my car. I am running Sidewinder 30%. One guy at the track has a mugen engine in his TC3 and has no problems with the fuel.

HPI 12R XS. This is the engine that I run and it has a lot of power. I think it is a rossi design, not sure. It only has three ports instead of five and only turns 38,000 RPM (dont hold me to it), but the price is 130$. For me it is the best engine for the money and they will take alot. I bought mine when they first came out to put into my R40 and I bought a new one about two months ago. I got two years of racing and playing out of it.

Hope I could be of some help.

after seeing how fast Mike Collins was with a HPI 12 in his super at the delaware challenge....(and his car was WAY faster than the HPI Nova Rossi motor in mine...I have the 1st design motor..and it runs great.....only a half a gallon on it)......his motor ran solid..idled great, and is the motor I'm gonna run next year......

Hey I get to race against Mike Collins at our club racing and he drives the wheels off of his super, and believe me I can't even come close to driving that good I just enjoy racing my R40.

I run a Picco .12 3-Port in my R40 with an RDL Turbo II legal pipe and the LW transmission. I got the motor for $99 at Nitrohouse. The motor has enough power keep up with much more expensive motors and I race on a big track setup for 1/8th scale open cars. This motor is an awesome value and I am very happy with it.

my friend just scored a new LRP Z-12R Team motor (picco based 3 port) for 68 bucks! to go in his not yet built r40. I said the crank pin will probably snap off like most picco .12s, I'm just jealous lol

I'm using the CD3 as a bashing car for the moment while My R40 stays in dialed mode for the track. Maybe I'll get to go Sunday or Wednesday. Definately going to make it to the track on Wednesdays since I have no class.

Klander-How is your R40 running? BTW, I rechecked the chassis and it's not bent. LOL.

Yeah thats the best way to go , have a basher and a racer. Cause you dont want to race your basher and vice a versa. Just makes things harder.

saying that I popped a sticky set of rubbers on my yok gt4 basher, and lapped quicker than my r40! I'm not having any luck with rubber tires and the r40 comb, just feels like a truck

:smasheshead I should have brought the racer2 to my last race, that thing would have at least finished the race, the motor is 3+ years old and still starts up like nothing.
