I have been running that body for the past 2 weeks and it is awsome. It has a ton of steering. Anyway what foams are you guys running on your R40's. I ran 35 42 this past weekend and it handle good but it was a little boogy out of the corners. I am going to 37 42 this week and see how it does. I just ordered the front 1 way from competition. They have a few parts in stock.

So I pretty much finished my car. Where are you guys locating your personal transponder and failsafe? I'm not sure where exactly I'm going to place both of those options.

Have any ideas for me?

the red tires are RdLogics all rubber tires they have been discontinued now for quite some time now.

and they don't leave red skidmarks.

HPI provides the plastic mount for transporder, there's a pic of it in my early post. And for for the failsafe, i think you can put next to the steering linkage on the upper deck where the batt. indicator on the pic of my car. Here the pictures...hope this helps

The mounts (the 3 wings) are cut off my transponder. I don't like having my transponder hanging out. I was thinking about placing the transponder where you have your failsafe.

Hara used a 5-AAA battery pack (yes, a 700mAh pack) and put it in the standard place. There was enough room left in the battery area to put the transponder on the plastic battery cover. No interference and very well protected.

anyone having a problem with the side-belt tensioner. I thought I was tightening the assembly too tight; the bearings wouldnt spin at all. I think it would be better if part #75008a was threaded on the inside.

I have an old steering post from a racer2 I could use that's threaded on the inside, perfect diameter for the bearings, but its too long, and I dont want to go through the hassle of hacking it up with a dremmel if I dont have to. Does hpi make a part#75008a thats threaded.

any help or info is greatly appreciated.

anyone know if there are any compatable belts out there? I just ran my first breakin tank and had the front belt shred on me not quite sure how since It never left the starter box, but I remember reading somewhere that the mtx-3 shares some similer parts to the R40 anyone know if the belts are similer?

Yes, all thrust bearings are of the same design on any car. Make sure you install the larger inner diameter washer first, the ball race and then the smaller inner diemater washer.

You can usually do it either way. But shimming from the front makes life much easier Don't need to take out the flywheel in order to re-shim your clutch.
