Default Literature on 1/8 onroad setup?????

Is there any literature available on 1/8 on road setups? To follow someones setup sheet doesn't mean my car or thier car handles good .I need to know why things are done the way they are & how to cure problems. I drive a 950r that always seems to have a offpower push I'm pretty sure it's not tires as I am using the same shore as most people in Toledo.
