Rubber + one way

i haf a question...

For the mtx-3

has anyone tried using the front one way along with rubber tires? Does this setup run well? (compared to foams)

or does the rubber tires HAVE to go with the front gear diff? (is it all personal preferences?)

thanks

i found (using an mtx2) that it works quite well, but a far cry from the performance you can expect from foam tires and a one-way.

Running a one-way with rubbers seems to prefer a looser rear diff because rubber tires have an inherently lower amount of traction so a looser rear diff allows for greater grip entering a corner. However this nulifies the great exit speed attributed to one-ways.

My best advice is try it. But I will warn you that I haven't seen a rubber tire nitro car work too well with a one-way. If your track is a track on which one-ways rule... stick to foams. You will be much faster than any setup with rubbers.

I think you're better off going with a 100000 fluid in the front or even diff-lock paste; Thats how my old racer 2 and Nob4 ran best back when we still ran rubber.

well, the thing is, my track is VERY small and tight
so i dont think that the one way would be much advantage, but since the straight is short, braking is very important

so should i just opt for gear diffs? but i am afraid that it might not be as "aggressive" as the one way, and cannot turn as sharply (make the car push)

and also, i am opting for rubber tires simply because i run on an unprepared parking lot most of the time...
and foam simply cannot hold up there, i run 37's and still lacks traction..

anyone else on this issue?

a diff will not cause push if the car is set up corectly!
one way and rubber will not be good!
100.000 in front
10,000 in rear will post my set ups asap

i just thought of another combination

get a solid rear diff axle, and put the gear diff components to the front

will this run well?

Well, if your track is small and tight, requiring a lot of braking, I would suggest using diffs, even if you could use foams I would suggest full diffs.

I find that 30,000 in front and 5,000 in rear is the best if you have tight 180's and similarly tight, abrupt corners. 100,000 is too much for my track as I need a little more turn-in than that will provide. But it depends on your track and your driving, so I can't suggest the best setup because I don't drive at your track.

Have you asked what other drivers run?

i havent yet

that is a good idea, dont know why i have not thought of it yet:sweat:
thank you!
