If you are building them yourself, use thin bars to solder them together if you use thicker ars like the Novak bars it gets to be a little tight trying to fit it in the slot on Kyoshos and Mugens.

After some very suspicious runaways at various tracks w/ the off the shelf receiver packs i've decided to build and sell matched receiver packs using my Skyrocket cells. So far my son and i can run a race day on 1 charge w/ 10 minute mains (haven't made it into the a yet )

That being said, if you are using NiMH receiver packs charge and discharge your pack (cycle) once before the race day starts. This will get the juices flowing in your pack and give you better performance from it.

Another tip hit it with a volt meter or take a peek at the charger screen, you need to check that you have at least 6 volts when charging is finished, sometimes a cell falls off and doesn't provide enough voltage and you are down in the 5's.

I'm putting together some hints and tips for all receiver pack types, including the newer LiFePO which i'll be carrying soon.

Default Engine mount with M4 screw

Hi!

I try search in all RRR threds but don't got answer for my question.

I've got used RRR which looks like Evo or Evo2, this thread is more "fresh" then
Evo or RRR, so I will ask.

My engine mount can move after small hit, just touch another car on track
and have problems with 2nd gear or 1st gear. Mount is for 4mm screws and
in chassis holes are bigger then for M3, they are made very nice (not hand
job) and M4 screw have flat head with 2.5mm socket.

Anybody see that chassis? Or maybe know who made it for RRR's ?
I try search all manuals for RRR's but there are always M3 screw for motor mount...

Maybe there is some trick for good motor mounting? I used lock tile but
engine moved ... and at last Sunday got 3rd place after 3x times change
2nd gear ... that was terrible for me

Regards!

M3 screws have served me well, I use locktite and the grip of death on them. I usually have to drill the screw out when I replace the chassis though. The holes are bigger so you can adjust the mount front/rear and side to side since every engine is different and gear mesh is different for each person. I would go back to using the M3's and the one piece engine mount, that is what everyone is using.

Once the mount is set in the chassis, I use the slop in the motor mount tab holes to fine tune the gear mesh and never touch the chassis ones again.

I don't believe they made an upgrade kit as they have with prior versions.

You need the chassis the most, the radio tray isn't much different to me. the rear tower is just thicker with more positions but you will probably use the same position that you have now anyway but it is stronger.

the front ackerman is now from the evolva, and the 2 speed is from the evolva as well. so the new xxx-55b gears are now xxx-55c and have a dark ring around the inside with a different compound evolva 2 speed shoe that seems lighter.

I don't think the evolva 2 speed made any difference to my car, I only switched a few weeks ago because I ran out of the older spur gears. The front ackerman is not much different either, but I have a better aluminium piece that is almost infinitely adjustable.

i too had the same problem with the motor moving.

so i got an older one piece engine mount i had and taped out the holes to a 4mm screw, then reamed out the chassis holes to fit the slightly bigger screw. and now my motor doesn't move at all, plus the bigger screw hex on the head helps it from stripping so easily.
