rs4 with belt drive?

i should be getting my rs4's on friday.. one of them is an older version and has the belt drive system. ive heard of some sort of belt tensioner or idle pully, tho it wasnt in referance to the rs4. should this be something to look into.. are the belt drives a secure unit, or is it just another problem area

i would suggest the front and side belt tensioner for the car. They have a decent tendency to pick up rocks and get them stuck in the pulleys.

either or really. HPI makes the both but there are aftermarket companies that make them too. Check out team blue star thats where i got my stuff from. Just remember though that rs4 2 parts are becoming more and more rare

HPI makes a side belt tensioner. You can also find other manufacturers. Ebay usually has them pretty cheap. The side tensioner is a must for higher HP engines because it braces the rear and middle drive shafts. The front tensioner you could probably do without, but couldn't hurt. You can buy tensioners from other manufactures or change some of the front end parts over to racer2 specs. The RS4/racer2 had a front belt tensioner built into the part that covers the front diff.
