centax clutch question

I have an older Team Magic G4 Evo that I am putting together...finally!! I know...out of date, but brand new so we are going with it for more experience.

In assembling the clutch according to the directions the clutch spring (using the red one) appears to nearly coil bind.

Here are some dimensions

9.55mm from end of crank to clutch nut top (9.5mm +-.1mm as in directions)
9.6mm from clutch nut top to spring cup
It looks like I can get the recommended .5mm from spring adj nut to clutch nut top but the spring sure is close to coil bind.

Is this normal..I have never used a Centax clutch.

Also...the three clutch shoes came with 3 brass weights...I assume the weights engage the clutch sooner and or harder? What track conditions would or would you not use the weights?

Thanks in advance!!

The weights will make the clutch engage earlier meaning lower RPM's of the engine. If the track has good traction and the rear end is not getting loose you can take out the weights so the engine will be in the higher RPM's so it will hit a lot harder and also use more fuel.
