Hell everybody, First I would like thank all the racers for a outstanding job today following rules, schedule. You racers were in position every time today and made my job easy, so thank you again. I arrived Thursday night aoround 10:30 and got to bed around 2:30 a.m. finishing all the prep work for this weekend race and woke up at 5: 00 a.m. and off to the track I went. What a day it was with some great practice and plenty of track time for having 120 entries. It was great to see some old friends that I have not seen in a while and meet some of the guys that I talk to on line with. I promised you some info daily so here it is. The RAMS crew did an outstanding job with the track set up, track prep and repairs. The track was fast and flowing, and had some high speed corners that gave some drivers problems at times. I defiantly saw some plenty of front ends ripped off the cars today. It had nothing to do with the track layout; it was just fast and on the edge. You had to stay close to the boards if you wanted to be fast. The RAMS crew help keep the program stay on schedule with some quick track repairs when we need it. The track was a little loose in the morning but we stop practice after 45 minutes to do a quick spray in some areas where needed and WOW what a difference that had made. You already have read some info from the guys but here is a little more. In 10th scale guys as usual, Mike Swauger and Ralph Burch Jr in the 18.3 – 18-4. I still think they will be in the 18.1-17; 9 tomorrow. Brian Thomas, Jeffery Lin and Robbie Collins were right around 18.6-18.7 and there were about 7 other drivers 18.8’s, so the field will be very close on qual day. I think you will see around 6 seconds difference in the qualifying times from 4 to 10 and still some fast guys had a bad day so expect some better lap times from the guys that had some problems with even closer racing tomorrow..
1/8 scale was plenty of guys that were fast. Swauger, Kimbrow, Burch, Baker. Jelich, Atkins and Cyrul all near the 16.4-16.8’s and at time I think some of these guys are holding back a little... There are about 15 other racers in the 17’0- 17’2s. There is defiantly some great talent at this race. Some of the horsepower that these guys have is simply amazing. I guess it really boils down that 1/8 scale racing it just down right awesome to watch and drive. Well it is time to it the pillow and will give you some better stuff tomorrow, but I have some valuable information that I would like to share with you guys in tomorrows write up, so stay toned.
Thanks Billy Bowerman
good night

I'll also post the rest of today's pics on my site: http://www.RobsPics.com
