Default Ofna LD3 any good.

I was wondering if the Ofna LD3s are any good. Actually i'm helping my friend find one and we don't know where to begin. I would like one too but dang insurance is making me sell the buggy I have but anyways.
A LHS sells the LD3 for $309 and wondering if they are anygood or not. They also have the Traxxas 4-tec for same price.

Any feedbacks.

His budget is around $350 complete
Thanks guys.

For the price paid, I think NTC3/MTX-3/V1RR/705 is a better buy.

i wonder what does the kit come with at the price of 309 US$.

the standard kit here is around 160 including exhaust and it is a 2speed kit.

Known an Ofna team driver who could use Kawahara TC3 centax clutch on the LD3. Thought it was pretty cool that these things are 'swap-able'.

It's $309 for a RTR. Force .12 engine and is marked at 60+ MPH the 2 speed that is. I am fairly new to this hobby so I don't know how accurate this is.

i dont think there is any realistic chance of achieving 60mph with a force 12(0.6+hp) engine.
either that , or the gear ratios are so tall it's not practical.

Actually, with the Force, closer to 50mph. 60 is possible, but not likely.

The car itself is a good deal. The hot setup would probably be the kit with the Ofna/Picco .12 in it. Nitrohouse has them for aroung $315. I bought the RTR. After having one too many problems with my Force, I put a CVR in it and it flies.

I got an LD3, It's actually pretty nice. Since I am fairly new to RC cars, It's plenty fast for me now.
In about couple of months I am planing to get RB Concept X12 or a Novarossi. (I heard they are the same).

I can get a 5 Port RB Concept X12 Rody Modified for about $330.

Still need to work on my skill and see what happens from here.

So far, I'm impressed with the LD3.

A local racer has the Pro (Team) LD3 and it looks very impressive!! The car has great acceleration (because of the shaft drive) and very smooths cornering lines. Also the parts on the car are very beefy. Watch out NTC3!!
