Need ideas to improve rough asphalt

We are looking at a location to run our on road club races that is a perfect high exposure location. The issue we are trying to find a cheap answer to is the old asphalt has quite a lot of aggregate exposed making it pretty abrasive.
I know we could seal and that would help and of course an asphalt overlay...too expensive.

The pad is approx 250' x 225'

So, looking for some ideas to help that are not too cost prohibitive.

Thanks
Mark

It is actually in good shape as far as it not having any bumps, holes or cracks...just abrasive.
We could fine other locations with better asphalt, but probably not a better high exposure location...we would love to make this work.
I think we will probably have to make due if we use it for a few months until we get the car count built up...but you never know:D

if its 'overly' rough sealer will NOT do what you need to do
we seal our track every other year
although quite costly and the costs of such almost doubled last year
it is worth the investment
we use a mixture of 2-3% of FINE silica sand [NOT play sand!!]
it gives quite a bit of traction & tire wear is at a minimum

IF sealing will NOT give you the surface [a test area is needed to try] overlay is your only other alternative Sorry!!

we have some pics off our front page for you to check out

we experienced the same issue with tire wear when we used the wrong sand
but with using a very fine sand tire wear was held to a minimum and with nitro touring you need ALL the traction you can get!!! LOL!!

THATS WHY WE USE METHANOL/CASTOR OIL/SODA SYRUP FOR TRACTION
