i use Sirio Engines but i agree with GHETTOTEACHER you dont need expensive italian motors to be super fast id go for an OS .12TZ plenty of power, easy to tune, easy to get parts and they are DIRT CHEAP. Ive seen so many people get expensive motors not know how to tune them and damage them thus bassically throwing out $550 of expensive italian alloy.
anyway just my 2cents
cheers

for someone new a lower end motor is good to start off with
i will say the red dot to is a good starter motor
but to say that these are good racing motors is another thing.
there not super fast IMO

i will have to disagree with you. the red dot is a good motor all around, just cuz it's inexpensive doesnt mean it's a good starter motor. most of the local guys use this motor and had a-main results at big races. dont let the price fool you. it's a fast good engine. needs to be tune right.

A JL red dot is an... yes Italian engine.....
And it is as fast as the more expensive (tuned) Ninja.
I've seen the new OS speed (evo2?) outrun the Ninja, and not on a typical American parking lot tracks, which are small, but on a typical European permanent track, which are a lot bigger...
So where does this place Ninja Wally?

I think the novarossi engine is a good pick. I just started this May, I only have little experience in breaking in or tuning engines, but with the novarossi ones, it is very easy and simple. The only thing I dont like is the price, but I would rather pay a little more and enjoy the hobby than go crazy in tuning engines. I have the 353 and 12-3sct tuned, and I recommend both of them.

Go with the JL Red Dot. Relatively cheap and very fast..... probably faster than Novas...

Some people on this forum seem to have a thing against JL Red Dots. I dont understand why, but my guess is that they have never seen one run, or perhaps they have one but are not good at tunning. Or maybe they want to justify espending 2 times the amount of money on their beloved Ninjas , by telling themselves over and over that every other engine sucks. Ignorance must really be bliss.
