Who has a temp gun?

How warm are NiMH batteries suppose to be while they are getting charged.?

Ideally, you dont want any heat in them. The heat is the part that destroys the cells. This is why electric car drivers go through so many sets of batteries each year to stay competitive. The high heat (35degC) really hurts the cells under a quick charge. For best performance from any cell you should always slow charge for 14-16hrs and have little or no heat in your batteries. They will thank you and last a lot longer also.;)

14-16 hours!?! thanks, I've been charging them for less than 3 hours.

115 degrees.....if you can afford a temp gun,and have decent nimh's,spring for a peak charger...they're under 50 bucks..

120-130 degrees can cause damage to the cells, so generally try to keep them under that temp range, I charge at 4 amps, and the cells have never gotten over 115.
