Kyosho Evolva M3
#571
Anybody knows which M3 Shimo or any factory Kyosho drivers were using during the recent pre world in Lostallo? The normal M3 or the upcoming M3 Evo?
I m in the market of getting a 1/8th, and is it worth to get the normal M3 or wait for the Evo version? My last 1/8th was the Evolva 2003.

M3 Chassis Question
Can anyone provide me with dimensions (mm's) of the fuel tank opening in the top plate for the M3? Much appreciated.

What type of steering servo is usually use for this car? Do I look for speed or torque? If torque, whats the min number should I be looking for? FYI, I have few Fut9451, Fut9551 and Sanwa ERG VX from my other scale rc car. Thanks.

dameetz - Shimo and Lamberto were both running the EVO car, Shimo's evo setup is posted on Kyosho.com, I run JR 8800S's, however they have been recently discontinued, not sure what I will be running next, 9100S's are nice but the current draw is a bit high, and since they are they are larger the sterring mount requires some dremel work to get it to fit.
ccrcraceway - The short wheelbase will make the car turn and rotate more, I almost always run in short, unless I am a giant track like Cincinnati, or a track that lacks forward bite (like Cincinnati as well), the car when short at that particular track will over-rotate, so longer is better there.
kwilke - I have my EVO together, I and am going to test it in Toledo weekend after next against my standard M3 I will let everyone know what I find. I think the stiffer suspension componets and the more flexible chassis plate will make it corner better. Not sure about the new transmission, Shimo per his setup sheet ran the standard drive ratio. I spoke to someone who was at the worlds warm-up and he thought the Kyosho cars looked the best.

The Evo conversion kit will be arriving at your local hobby shops this week if they ordered them.
Brooklyn Hobbies already received their order. Call Richie before they run out.
Dont forget your Empire Racing parts to complete the "package"!

The new M3 EVO kit is beautiful. I started building mine last night and will be running it at the GLC in Toledo
