Default Engine tuning

alucard13;

When I was regularly running the HPI 15FE's, I tried to keep the Maximum temperature not over 260F. Any more than this and Piston and Sleeve life was drasticly shortened.
A 2 needle Carb really helps to maintain decent Engine performance at a more reasonable temperature like 260F.

4 Stroke sound is hard to explain.....kinda like the sound of a Harley. More of a blurping sound.

would appreciate if you could tell us in a more simple way to get the (4-stroking) sound ....
he means more to a gurgerling rich sound.

use a number 6 plug for normal conditions (15 to 30 degrees celc +) tune your low end on the bench so it can idle "nicely" and consistantly. basicly so that it can idle for 15 to 20 sec and you can stil WOT it without it dieing or bogging down excessivley.

then on the track do a few laps as fast as you can without crashing and lean it according to top end. you should tune it so that it DOESN'T deteriorate in performance during a race.
