Here is a list of the current legal engines for the GT2 Spec class for Ipanema-sponsored races:

Kyosho: GXR28SG
Kyosho: GXR28 (KYO74025)
Ofna: .28 Force (OFN52217)
Ofna: Hyper .28 (OFN 53220)
Axial: .28 Spec (AX001)
Axial: .28 Spec (AX002)
Sportwerks M26 (SWK8085)

Go Technology .21 3 Port (GTR213PT)

OS Engines .21VG SMG2058 21VG (P) & OSMG2059 21VG (P)-X

There may be more added as this list is up for review at this time. However, the above engines are definitely legal to use in Spec-class racing. For open class, you can use anything you want from a .18 to a .32, on or off road, and spend as much money on your car as you want.

Like jneg said, that is the correct one. When the list was orginially made, the part number used was what that engine was placed under. When OS updated the carb on it, they decided to give it a new number. So, the part numbers of the OS 21vg's that are legal will need to be updated as well.

Also, don't forget that the following Novarossi engines are legal for the Spec class. They all sell for $250 or less.

NOVN21-3T
NOVN21-5T
NOVS21P3Xs
NOVS21P5XLT

Novarossi quality at affordable prices.

These engines are under review but have not been made "legal" yet. There are plenty of engines under review and a final decision on possible additional engines will be coming soon. Let's hold off telling folks that this engine or that engine is legal. Let's wait for Jspeed and Ipanema (since they are the "governing body") to put out the Spec engine listing. This way, you will not have someone buying an engine that may not be on the legal spec listing, thus putting them in a bind if they are on a tight budget.

I think I'll wait for the new updated lists of spec engines and then decide if I want to go open or spec.
