Read that there were some conversions in a previous race
Thanks
My friends Josio and Alejandro made their conversions for the Mugen MBX6. They made new shock towers, chassis and a few other things. Even though they couldn't test their cars prior to the Ipanema World GT Championship Josio came in third in open and Alejandro bumped up to the A Main. So both cars ended up in the A Main. They are working on a few more things and will probably sell a conversion kit. I'm helping them design wise so just keep an eye for it.

Sounds like Desoto does the same. I may have to try one of the $199 5 port Nova's.

But I agree that at $280, there are many engines by all manufactures that will out last the $200 ones and you do not need to purchase a good carb to make it run right. I believe that some times it costs you less overall with spending a little more on the front side.

In my opion, we need less classes, but each region or track needs to do what the local racers want. This is the only way to get and keep them running the class.

For anyone that is new, I made the same statement 2 years ago about the $200 engine in that it should have been $250. The $250 engines are now up to $275/$280.
ok a rookie question what pipes are you running with each of those???? same pipe all or a special for each??

What shocks do you run with the SNR towers for the MBX6?

Not a rookie question, as I will change at times to see what works best.

The Ofna DM1 that I run requires a tight header, so the pipes on other cars may differ a little bit. I normally run a 087 on most of the spec motors. For the Werks, their 058 (think that is correct). On the 35+21 I use the onroad 2015 from Novarosi or RB. For the OS I use thier 2050. So I do travel with pipes to try.

If you are a Rookie and just getting started use what comes with the motor and go from there. Or try the 087, which you can pick up pretty reasonably plus it is very stout, so it will take some abuse. The high end pipes while lighter are a little less forgiving.

As usuall, just my 2 cents ............

The mugen cars I seen at the worlds looked good except for the chassis. Buggy based GT cars have front kickup, the chassis I saw were flat. Not sure if that conforms to most GT rules.

Hello from france,

mugen MBX5 and MBX6 are like that.

The pilots make the chassis flat.

And here's the items we all use to convert an OffRoad buggy to a GT car...

The DM1, Team C, and conversions all have the flat chassis, and it is becoming the norm. Maybe spec can run the kickup and open is open.

Thanks for the pics
I have figured out a conversion but the only problem is the clutch bell is longer bec of the 2 speed hence maybe hitting the gas tank
The motor has to be moved back
With these bumpers and body post it should be easy to convert them
Even use the long shocks but limiting them
Will try to have one ready by next week (try)
I have a BCE chassis for the mbx6 and it will be the prototype for the conversion ahahahaha(ala mad scientist )

Just for input, we have run a variety of rules here with engine price limits, madatory engines, and weight rules, as well as gearing fixed and other options. We have been racing GT since the first BMW and Subaru hit the shelves. We now run open engines and no weight restrictions or body restrictions for three classes with experience and skill determining which class you run. MUCH better than fighting over what engines are allowed .
