Sweet track!

Those Tecknokit cars look pretty trick but also look like they'd be pretty hard on the wallet.

I think the dividing line between GT and 1/8 on-road should be the drive system, GT = shaft & 1/8 on-road = belts.

I still think if somebody wanted to run single speed they should be able to, can't see the drawback for anybody else and it's cheaper.

Some day those belt RG cars may see a lot of action here in the US but that's talking about another class. Don't get me wrong, their car is awsome, but with what we've got going here now, I don't see it working today.

Single speeds are for Off-Road

Default 1/8 rubber tires

This will give an idea of how good the solid rubber tires are for the 1/8 scale IGT or OFNA GTP. These guys in Europe run them in the rain.

Second that! It hurts to hear expensive motors screaming in the end of the main straight.

Just an FYI, when I ran at the local oval parking lot track with my Technokit SPRY (single speed belt drive) it was untouchable. I had guys with Ofna GTP's running 2 speeds with really hot Picco and Novarossi 21s trying to chase me down and they couldn't do it. Car was stuck. Remember the GTP's and IGT's are buggy based so they have quite a bit of suspension travel for onroad. The SPRY was purpose built for onroad and has much stiffer suspension. Can get in and out of turns quicker. I came close to matching this performance on my GTP by going to the Traxxas Revo shocks with a stiff spring setup but it still couldn't hug the inside rail like the SPRY. To bad I sold it. After doing the oval thing I decide to go on road fulltime and now race 1/10 gas with a Team Magic G4RS and just finished building my new Kyosho RRR EVO 2. Have an OFNA GTP with a .21 AXE/ROSSI modded LS1 and spare rolling chassis. If anyone is interest send me a PM.

Regards,

Speyederjedi

The SPRY looks like an awesome car, hand down, but a single speed at a big track is asking for trouble or getting smoked in the infield areas.

If it had a 2 speed, it would be a killer.

Default Tires

JSpeed,

Are those technokit solid rubber tires on that kick ass ride of yours??? That Protoform body looks AWESOME!!! Saw the same body at my LHS but of course it wasn't painted. Think I'll go pick it up and get my OFNA GTP back on the tarmac. Give me a couple weeks and I'll post some pics.

Regards,
Speyederjedi
