MZ3 looks nice sharing some parts with the MRX5. If Mugen built rallygames, the MZ3 would be it.

If any of you have a belt-drive Rally Game car or are planning on getting one, we letting these beasts loose in our new "GT Outlaw" class for the 2012 GT Worlds in March..... and 2-speed transmissions are totally legal!
Here's the track fellas....

VexVegas, Pay no attention to any of those wet blankets out there. If you willing and able to get it… more power to you Bro!
There's already a few of the BMT cars here in America, so the support network is building for it now, but at the end of the day, get what you want, we're building the class to race them right now.

They appear to be much faster than the IGT2s I've seen run. Is it simply a gearing issue? Also the geometry is purpose built for racing as opposed to the IGT2 etc....

Is that car awesome?
Yes.
Is it a GT car?
Not sure..
I'm kind of skeptical of the sense in having started with the very sensible premise of affordable, technically simple (shaft-driven) GT cars as opposed to the high-tech/high-cost/high-maintenance F1-like 1/8 race-cars, only to have GT cars evolve back to the latter..
That car in the video linked above is cool and all, and fast as hell, but it looks to have more in common with the high-end 1/8 racers than a buggy-based GT car - not only in complexity and maintenance, but surely in cost too...

IMHO if you want to be fast run 1/8 scale onroad with foams and belts
that machine is very efficient and you will have all the speed that you need and all the handling
If you want a class where it is also fast but manageable, car is stable and rolls and turns in the corners with some drifting and be able
to drive it in parking lots and unprepared tracks because of the shaft drive the GT class is the way to go.
there is really a big difference between these classes and how these cars drive. there is now way these cars should be run in one class
those outlaw cars are nice looking and are fast
with the outlaw class can I get a 1/8 onroad and just put rubber tires on them? does anyone make a conversion for rubber tires
just my opinions

Yeah, but it's not quite that simple.
To convert 1/8 onroad to GT, you'll need to find a body that fits (dimensions not the same)
and I'm not convinced front onway and rear spool would work well with rubber tires, you'll need diffs for that.
Easier to buy a RG car (RG=rally game) and then modify a 2-speed onto it if necessary (=track is big) like I did
Most Italians run their RG cars on tracks built temporarily on parking lots as far as I know.
Belts work fine there since they are wide & strong enough, 2-speed is not needed (in fact rules does not allow one).
There shaft drives are not a common thing, instead belts are.
