I just placed my order at IGT Hobbies for the Alpha Racing R1 and R3
bodies Bill. If ya throw some IGT Hobbies stickers in the box with the
bodies, I'll slap them on the bodies after I get done painting them.
Also, that is a great deal ya got going for the DM1 Pro kit. I may be
ordering one from ya later this week. I've been wanting to build another
"BCE DM1 Pro Hybrid" and starting out with fresh, new parts car is a plus.

Thanks Rage.

We are working on our stickers at the moment, trying to find a dependable company. We did get our shirts done finally, and they are on the site.

That DM1 I have on the site is a kit that I ordered for a customer and then they backed out, its been sitting here for a bought a year, so time to discount the crap out of it and make some room. Its the only one I have and once it sells, the price will go back to normal, so you may want to grab it quick!

My question is. Is there a way to convert this car into a two speed, using Nitro? I asked some of the local fast guys and the info is on the fence. I still have all the original nitro pieces. Motor, pipe mounts, and chassis pieces. I don't wanna scrap the car, and I'm kinda spread thin budget wise. Anybody done this? Please provide a parts list. Or pics. Thx!
You will want to order either one of these parts....

http://www.igthobbies.com/KYOSHO-KYO...SET_p_437.html

or

http://www.igthobbies.com/OFNA-OFN35...PE_p_1691.html

If you order the latter, you will also need
http://www.igthobbies.com/OFNA-OFN40...AFT_p_930.html

Either of these should fit in your stock uprights, but you will need to drill new holes since the 2-speed is longer than a normal center diff. Get a good set of countersinking drill bits at Lowes or Home Depot.

I believe there are a few guys on here that have done the conversion and know which center dog bone you will need. Maybe they will chime in.

Use super glue/tire glue on the screws going into plastic. It works just like thread lock does on metal.

Unfortunately, due to my upcoming tuition expenses I have to put buying the car after this season but this gives me the opportunity to research belt driven GT's and now i am left with 4 choices (fastrace gt-r10, blade racing rx1, technokit spry, and the bmt) they are all two speed capable with either kyosho or serpent tranny.
sorry for the late response, been out for a while.
all great choices, and it's very nice to hear WildBill has added BMT recently to their listings
I've been working on the BMT car some, I run for a while single speed, more that enough for parking lot races with the Sirio RR motor, but since I got it so well setup, too, I went back to my shop and rebuild the 2-speed conversion so that I can now run the excellent Sirio/iRacing V2 Centax along with the Evolva tranny (on my previous version the V2 flywheel didn't clear the brake disc or vice versa, now they fit in nicely). I hope I can do some track testing before the season ends, but if not I have something nice ready for the next.
One thing to consider when selecting the car is that iRacing (owner of BMT) has told that they will supply a 2-speed tranny this fall along with the new car, the "GT" version of current BMT 081.
It seems Italians run their cars with very low front shock towers, maybe it's because they also run those Lola type bodies, but I think I found a better way to setup the car with a more upright/taller front shock stay so that front shocks are more upright (declined) than the rear shocks, just like Kyosho GT has. Maybe loosing some cornering but it feels much more stable and controllable this way (at least on parking lot racing, haven't run on track with this setup yet).

Mark,

When we race at Porter, we stay at the Super 8 that is less than a mile from the track. I will be staying there the week before this race for the X-Ray Challenge.

BTW, did you get my email the other day?

Bill, Thanks for the info on the Hotel. Yes, "Real" work has gotten in the way. Somewhere in the pile should be the material cost ...... I'll get back to you later today.
